The International Paris Air Show is getting ready to celebrate a 100th anniversary.
Connecticut is represented by the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, Inc. and a trade booth for the state of Connecticut, both located in Hall 3.
Department of Defense (DoD) aircraft on site include the C130J, HC130, F15, F16, and Sikorsky HH 60G Pave Hawk helicopter.
Dates are June 15 through June 18 for trade visitors, and June 19 to June 21 for the general public. The exhibition happens every other year in conjunction with the Farnborough International Airshow outside London.
Louis Le Portz is the chief executive officer for the air show, whose sponsors include Accenture, FedEx Express, Bombardier, Breitling, iXAir, MBK, Pommery, Volkswagen, Lazard, Bikeboard, French Aerospace Suppliers, and others.
Roughly the same number of international exhibitors, about 2,000, will be present, roughly the same as in 2007, the last show.
A record number of small- and medium-sized companies will show off their wares, though.
Some 25 civilian and several military jets will make demonstration flights, and due to the centennial, vintage aircraft will be on display.
Bombardier will showcase the Learjet 60 XR, Challenger 850 and Global Express XRS business jets as well as the first delivered Q400 NextGen airliner. In addition, a full-scale cabin mockup of the new, all-composite Learjet 85 business jet will also be open for viewing. The Bombardier chalet is located at A 365.
Gulfstream will not be there, after the company made a recent presentation at the European Business Aviation Conference in Geneva.

This year’s group of Connecticut companies is the largest to participate in the program since its inception. It includes eight new companies as well as 14 that have participated in past trips to the Paris or Farnborough, England, air shows. Each of the 22 companies will exhibit in a 96-square-meter booth that includes several small meeting areas, two large video monitors, graphic displays showing products and services made in-state and static displays from Connecticut Corsair, SPX Precision Components and Pratt & Whitney.
