Hartford business executive Curtis Robinson signed and presented a check for $1 million to officials of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in support of the Men’s Health Institute at Saint Francis Hospital.
The Men’s Health Institute will address the prevalence and disparities of prostate cancer, particularly among African-American men. It will engage in a community outreach program with more than 30 faith-based and community organizations serving African-American populations.
Free on-site educational programs, testing to detect prostate cancer in its earliest and most treatable stages, and appropriate surgery if required for individuals who are uninsured or under-insured will be offered.
